Worshiping Shiva with water, milk, belpatra and Akshat in Sawan brings spiritual peace and worldly pleasure to the devotees.
– In worship, it is said to use Akshat in the form of clean and without broken rice. Mixing it in roli or turmeric and applying tilak or offering it to Shivling gives special fruit. Chanting ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ by offering on Akshat Shivling in Sawan is considered extremely virtuous. Many major Hindu festivals also have a tradition of offering rice and milk pudding or rice-jaggery and eating as offerings. It increases the auspiciousness and joy of festivals even more.
– There is also a scientific reason for offering kheer in the humid constellation. Rice is light. It strengthens digestive power and also gives energy to the body.
