New Injection for Parkinsons Patients | New injections come for Parkinson patients, the burden of taking medicines daily will end, research was revealed

Injection for Parkinson’s Patients: A team led by scientists of Indian origin in Australia has created a new medicine for people suffering from Parkinson’s disease. This medicine has to be taken once a week as an injection. This medicine can change the lives of about 80 lakh people, because it can relieve patients from taking many pills daily. It is difficult to take medicine again and again, especially for the elderly or who have difficulty in swallowing the medicine. In such a situation, not only reduces the effect of the medicine by not taking the medicine at the right time, but its side effects increase and the disease is not able to control properly.

To solve this problem, the South Australia University (Unisa) team has created an injection drug that works for a long time. This drug includes two main medicines of Parkinson’s, Levodopa and Carbidopa. This medicine affects the whole week.

Revealed in new research

Research published in the magazine drug delivery and translation research said that this medicine is special, it is called biodegradable. This medicine is applied as injection. This medicine slowly affects the body for seven days.

How will injections work

Sanjay Garg, Professor of Unisa’s Pharmaceutical Innovation Center, has said that this new injection drug can improve the results of treatment. This will also make it easier for patients to take medicine. Also, the disease will help in curing.

Professor Garg said, “Our aim was to make a medicine that makes the treatment easier. The patient should take the medicine properly, and the effect of the drug remains continuously. It can bring a big change in the care of Parkinson’s once a week.”

He further said, “Levodopa is the most effective drug in Parkinson’s, but its effect ends quickly, so it has to be taken several times a day. But this injection is like a gel, in which two special substances, the first PLGA, which dissolves in the body slowly, and the second is the eudragit L-100, which works at the pH and leaves the drug at the right time.

Garg said, “This drug is given as an injection with a thin 22-gauge needle. This does not cause much trouble for the patient and does not require any surgery. He said that this technique can also be used not only for Parkinson, but can also use other long diseases like cancer, diabetes, mental diseases, pain and long-lasting infections.
