According to toi report The drugs released by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization include powerful painkiller and anti-enzymatic drugs such as the drugs released by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization. All these medicines are causing intoxication and if they are taken incorrectly then they can also be fatal. That is why such medicines should be cleared safely. CDSCO has also made it clear that except these 17 drugs, other normal drugs are not dug into the toilet. Such drugs require scientific and environmentally friendly disposes. For this, it has been suggested to adopt initiatives like drug tech back, which may include state medicine control department or local chemist.
The new guidelines of CDSCO are not only to protect people, but also to protect the environment from pollution from medicines. According to a study by AIIMS’s Occular Pharmacology Division, when drugs in Delhi NCR are thrown into dustbin, they reach the Yamuna River like water source. Due to this, the presence of antibiotics and other drugs in water has been recorded, which are giving rise to multi-digger resistant bacteria. The study also found that the presence of medicines in surface water was found in the areas near the Yamuna River and Ghazipur landfill. This pollution not only affects aquatic organisms, but it can also become a serious threat to human life.
