What kind of cancer crisis in children between 2008 and 2017.
Bharte in second place
A new global study has warned that more than 1.5 crore people around the world, born between 2008 and 2017, can suffer from gastric cancer at any time in their lives. India’s position in these cases may be second after China. This study has been published in journal Nature Medicine. The study has shown that about two-thirds of the estimated cases will be in Asia. After that there will be gastric cancer patients in America and Africa. Researchers at the World Health Organization agency International Agency for Research on Cancer -AIARC analyzed cancer data from 185 countries using the Globocan 2022 database. He connected it to the United Nations mortality estimate and found that 1.56 crore people could be victims of gastric cancer.
The study states that when there will be gastric cancer among people born between 2008 and 2017, the biggest reason for this is Helicobacter Pylori bacteria. In these cases of gastric cancer, 76 percent of cases will be related to Helicobacter Pylori. Helicobacter Pylori is a common bacteria whose long time infection remains in the body until infection occurs. This bacteria produces inflammation in the stomach, which can cause ulcers and cancer. Gastric cancer is the fifth biggest cause of cancer deaths in the world at this time. According to the study, 1.6 crore cases will be in Asia in total cases of gastric cancer in future, in which 65 million people born in this period including India and China will have this disease. Scientists have also said that if there is no intervention in this matter, then in India alone, about 1.65 crore new gastric cancer cases can be reported.
Can it be stopped
Scientists said that it can be stopped at all in time. The study states that Helicobacter pylori infection can be reduced considerably in cases of gastric cancer due to investigation and timely treatment. If the correct steps are taken, then 75 percent of the future gastric cancer cases can be prevented. Researchers also said that the increasing number of gastric cancer among the youth and the increasing population of the elderly is further increasing the disease. However, the reports of gastric cancer are less in sub-city Africa. The report warns that if prevention measures are not taken, then this area may increase six times in future. The authors have demanded more investment for population level prevention.
